CAF President Ahmad on Saturday, 25 August 2018, graced the CECAFA Extraordinary General Assembly held in Dar es Salaam,Tanzania.
He commended CECAFA for their continued unity, support and commitment towards CA’s activities and programs.
Ahmad reiterated his mission to ensure growth and continued progression for African football geared towards the zonal unions.
“As CAF, our aim is to decentralise some of the powers to the zones to ensure growth and progression because I always respect commitment.
“We don’t want too much concentration of power in one place that is why we want the zones to be empowered to improve visibility of football in Africa and also have reforms in all the zones by changing the format and validating the statutes to be in tandem,” Ahamd told delegates.
President Ahmad took the members through the new common decision explaining the new composition as CECAFA sort to make amendments to their statutes.
In attendance was Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) president Sekamana Jean Damascene alongside other delegates from the members that constitute the 12-member body.
