Some of the challenges faced by Rwandan importers from Asian countries such as China and Turkey are delays of their products while others blame the companies that help them to deliver them of transportation insecurity.
During special discussions with Asiafrica Logistics Ltd company in Kigali on Saturday, July 30, 2022, these traders were assured of an improved security of their products when they took the step of working with them.
Testimonies of some importers who worked with AsiaAfrica Logistrics Ltd include that they have never encountered losses as reported by some who are assisted by other companies that disappointed them.
Chantal Umutoni is one of those who faced challenges before she started working with Asiafrica Ltd. Umutoni confirms the difference in service delivery.
“it happens that when you go to pack your load in other companies and they tell you that it will arrive in 40 days, and you find that it takes 60 or 70 days. As I started working with this company, I found performance in their services.”
Innocent Mugenzi, another customer pointed out that there is a situation where a person imports a product like a car, agrees to pay for the container himself so that it will reach him without any problems but finally finds his car damaged.
“It chocked me once I ordered a car and I agreed to pay for the container myself to ensure security of my car but it finally happened that I found it broken. I realized that it’s because they added other things in my container like nails, it required me an additional Rwf5million to repair it.” Mugenzi said, requesting the new business logistics partner to make an improvement.
Faustin Bintunimana, Finance Manager of Asiafrica Logistics Ltd said that they established the company after learning from the challenges faced by traders, which they will solve by introducing a technology-based approach that respect a client.

“When we receive a customer, we ask him/her where he/she wants his/her cargo to go, and we direct the property according to the customer’s information., especially as a person who has his/her own container, we make sure that no one else puts other loads,” he said.
He said that their company is based on the needs of the client, which distinguishes them from those who are exposed to the habit of seeking profit only.
“We want to provide services that are mainly based on what our clients want from us without our own emotions and benefits.”
Rwandan importers have also requested the new logistics company to appoint an English-speaking Rwandan to help them during their deliveries in China to be able to work with the Chinese exporters who often do not speak English to help check the packaging of the loads.
