The Rwanda Peace Academy in partnership with the Nordic Defense
Cooperation (NORDEFCO) and the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) set to conduct the African Integrated Crisis Management Course.
The one-week long course will be officially opened on Sunday at the academy premises in Musanze District and will run up to October 19.
It will be attended by military, police and civilian officers from eight African countries namely: Comoros, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Sudan, Seychelles, Somalia and Uganda.
The African Integrated Crisis Management Course aims at enhancing the participants’ knowledge and understanding of the integrated crisis management approach in peace operations, according to a statement issued by Academy officials.
Among other expectations of the course is to enhance collaboration and coordination among the different actors, namely military, civilian and police components, as well as humanitarian and development actors.
Rwanda Peace Academy was created by the Government in 2012 in a move to be a Peace Support Operations (PSOs) and Peacebuilding, Training and Research Centre of Excellence.
