Members of Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) joined the rest of the Rwandan Community and Stakeholders in a countrywide campaign of 16 Days of Activism to end Violence against Women and Girls. The campaign under the theme: “End Violence against Women and Girls: Speak out” was organised by the Ministry of Gender and Family Promotion in collaboration with the national Social Cluster Ministries including the Ministry of Defence.
In this framework RDF launched Anti-Gender Based Violence (GBV) workshop in order to increase awareness on fight against GBV among military families in various districts of Rwanda. The workshop planned from 27 November to 5 December 2017, targets 1632 military spouses from Ngoma, Huye, Rusizi, Karongi, Rubavu and Musanze Districts.
The first session of these workshops was held in Ngoma District on 27 November 2017 and officially opened by the 211 Bde Commander, Col JOMBA GAKUMBA with the Deputy Mayor in charge of Social Affairs in Ngoma District, Mrs KIRENGA Providence.
