President Paul Kagame is holding a conversation with over 3000 youths at Intare Conference Arena in the outskirts of Kigali city
This conversation being held under the auspice of #MeetThePresident includes young Rwandans living in the country and in the Rwandan community abroad. The event theme is “The Promise of a Generation”.
In setting the tone for the conversation, President Kagame told the enthusiastic youth, “Today, let’s just challenge ourselves, challenge each other. The best thing is that at the end of the day, we’ll be a step ahead of where we were when we came to meet here this morning.”
The president considers today’s meeting as a give and take conversation, “That is why today, I want to begin by listening to you the youth.” He noted that when you meet with others, you should not be the only one to speak. Others must have the chance to speak.”
“I want to encourage every speaker to relax, breathe. We are all in this together, we have the same goal. Speak freely. If you know how to sing and feel like it, feel free. Take it easy.”
The platform aims to engage Rwanda’s young Generation on National aspirations for the next 25 years inspired by vision 2050 and encourage them to be self-driven to ensure sustainability and continuity for Rwanda’s socio-economic progress attained to date.
