Social Media Users, including Olivier Nduhungirehe, State Minister in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Cooperation, and East African Community doubted on RFI professionalism, after publishing a story about “Ghana’s UN peacekeepers recalled in South Sudan over sex claims”, with RDF soldiers’ photo as article logo.

A United Nations spokesman said on Monday that 46 police sent from Ghana had been confined to barracks in Juba on Saturday after a preliminary probe showed they had been “engaging in sexual activity with women” living at a UN site to protect civilians in South Sudan.

“The information received indicates that some members of police unit FPU (Formed Police Unit) allegedly engaged in transactional sex,” UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said. The UN peacekeeping mission in South Sudan has a “zero tolerance, no excuses, and no second chances approach to sexual exploitation and abuse,” he said.

Speaking about RFI’s faint, Nduhungirehe accused RFI to repeat the same mistake at least more than 3 times.
He wrote on Twitter: “ Say, RFI, black people are all alike, right? This is at least the third time you use pictures of Rwandan peacekeepers for a sexual exploitation case involving other contingents.”

Another Twitter User whose name is Semugambi Fredric wrote: “A new fight, to down destroy Africa-Rwanda model of economy. They want to down play our image after 24 years of rebuilding it. They dug a hole, putted us in to, but they didn’t know we were seed that would grow. Rwandans grew tall and nothing can stand our way.”

Last year, France 24 also published a story about French Soldiers expelled in Centre Africa for raping children and the world were shocked to find Rwandan Policeman photo were used on that story.
