It was nothing like Yerevan had ever witnessed before as Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and candidate for the post of Secretary General at the Francophonie, Louise Mushikiwabo took to the stage to mesmerise the audience.
It was at the unforgettable evening of Wednesday when Mushikiwabo alongside Rwandan musicians and traditional dancers thrilled the participants of ongoing 17Summit of the international Organization of La Francophonie (OIF).
An ensemble of mainly Rwandan musicians based in France, including Shanel Nirere and Sammy Kamanzi entertained those who showed up for the evening.
Predominantly, Mushikiwabo displayed her traditional Kinyarwanda dance skills. The video of her dancing has since gone viral all over social media networks in Rwanda and abroad.
Meanwhile, the Francophonie Summit has been opened today in Yerevan by the France President Emmanuel Macron who stressed the need to strengthen French language as “It is the language of solidarity in the world,”
Mushikiwabo is expected to win the coveted seat with ease to replace Canadian Michaelle Jean.
