Within this two weeks, a disaster caused by the landslide, heavy rains with strong wind in Eastern Province specifically in Ngoma District occurred and caused six deaths, ten cows were struck by lightning and complete destruction of 44 houses.
More than this, the disaster destroyed farmer’s crops which were planted on 51 ha. It is within this framework Minister of disaster management and refugees, Madam Jeanne d’Arc De Bonheur visited NGOMA District to pay tributes to those who lost their lives and to render the help to those who survived as well.

Minister DE Bonheur who attended his burial this Thursday March 22, 2018, pledged to the citizens that Government will render help of iron sheets to the affected 44 families. She also advised people to build the strong houses which can resist over the disasters.
Meantime,42 families was handed home basic tools, with estimated value of more than two million Rwandan Franc.
Recently the country is facing serious disasters that put people’s life into tight corner, the earlier evidences that we can mention; Sixteen people were struck dead by lightning in Nyaruguru District,that time Provincial governor Mureshyankwano said a similar incident occurred when lightning struck a group of 18 students, killing one. Last October, lightning killed 18 people in different parts of the country.
According to Business Insider, The likelihood of a lightning strike killing so many people at once is incredibly low. In the United States, about 50 people are killed by lightning every year, but these deaths usually take place one-by-one, not in large groups.
