The Integrated Polytechnic Regional Centre West (IPRC WEST), now referred as College of Karongi, is going to locate one part of its educational activities at the former UR-College of Medicine and Health Sciences (CMHS), Nyamishaba Campus.
Facing challenges of insufficient classes and students’ accommodation, and being aware that University of Rwanda had moved its students from Nyamishaba Campus for its restructuring and Campuses relocation, IPRC WEST, through WDA, negotiated with UR to have some parts of this campus for its services.
Few days ago, confirmed by Frederic MUTANGANA, the Ag. Principal of IPRC WEST, this campus was handed to IPRC WEST to avail classes, hostels . . . for the part of its Advanced Diploma students. It is planned that during this upcoming second semester, two departments, specifically Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) will be placed at Nyamishaba.
Regarding accommodation, all willing Advanced Diploma students will be accommodated there, but in the beginning, only above said departments will have classes, workshops and laboratories there. This means that, with the time, another department can be transferred accordingly.
Nyamishaba Campus is located at the shore of the Lake Kivu in Gasura cell, Bwishyura Sector, Karongi District, Western Province. It has a very beautiful nature bringing freshness and the taste for studying.
