Over six millions of Rwandans across the country are voting for The president of the Republic to head the country in the next seven-year mandate.
Kirehe district in Nyakarambi School, one of election sites located in Kirehe sector opened doors for hundreds of citizens who arrived there early morning.
Léonidas Ndayahoze, 55, is a citizen from Rurama village, Nyabikokora cell in this sector who reached the site before 6 am.
He told The express news Rwanda that election was free and fair as he did not meet any obstacle.
At 7:35 am, he has already voted and we approached him for an interview.
” I have voted for a leader who will help me reach the development, who will maintain and sustain peace and security for me, for Rwandans and the whole country. Everything was fair as I went through the voting process in the voting room, they gave me the voting paper with three candidates from which I chose who to vote in my full freedom,” said Ndayahoze.
Dancille Harelimana, a 60 year-old mother is a neighbour of the site and has reached there around 4 am. At 7:20, She was waiting at the voting room.
Harelimana said that she is free and ready to vote for an important President who will play the potential role in pushing ahead the development of Rwandans.
” we need a President who will continue building the development of all Rwandans, who will maintain peace and security among others,” said the old woman.
According to Gerald Muzungu, Kirehe district Mayor who was at the site for a walk said he has already voted as a citizen.
He assured that citizens were ready since 5am to join the action which they consider the most important.
” I was not interrupted when voting as I found everything free, fair election where citizens were able to vote following the principles of democracy, and they were very happy for the action,” said Muzungu.
The site hosts 15 voting rooms and will host 4287 voters who registered as accredited voters.
