According to a statement issued by the AU, the Rwandan entity also agreed to the ratification of the protocol on merchandise trade, trade in services and rules and procedures for the settlement of disputes, which were signed in Kigali, the capital of that nation, last March.
The 60 legislators presented the projects, which will also go to the Senate for its consent.
In the text, the AU recalled that Afcfta will enter into force after being ratified by the 22 countries of the continent.
The decision to form the free trade area was adopted in January 2012 during the 18th ordinary session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the Union, while the negotiations were initiated in 2015.
