Rwandan Embassy in Germany has announced a new date of the Rwanda day that is scheduled on 5th-October, in Bonn, Germany as Kagame will be attending the G7 invitation
The new schedule follows the previous communiqué signed by the State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Olivier Nduhungirehe which indicated that Rwanda Day 2019 was postponed due to unforeseen circumstances that another schedule would be communicated.
Rwanda day is a reunion of Rwandans of the Diaspora with those inside Rwanda. It always hosts President Kagame as the guest speaker.
At the beginning this month, Amba. Nduhungirehe had estimated that this particular Rwanda Day would attract 1200 people and would be the first such event in German. The Netherlands, Belgium, The Netherlands, UK, Canada, USA and others have hosted this event before.
The first Rwanda Day was held in Belgium and more than 40,000 Rwandans in Diaspora have been mobilized to take part in nation building.
For Every Rwanda Day, President Paul Kagame is the chief guest and is always accompanied by members of the government and representatives of hundreds of businesses.
The gathering usually serves as platform for Diaspora to directly interact with government, learn about the Rwanda of today and be an integral part of defining Rwanda’s future.
During a similar event in 2015 in the Netherlands, President Kagame explained the Philosophy behind Rwanda Day.
“This is an opportunity for us to join our hands in building our country and change the bad history and memories of our past; this requires for everybody’s contribution, for everyone to play a role.”
