Many Rwandans living abroad wish to come and see the development of their country and ask themselves if it is possible to join the move of development the country has developed so far but remain in ambiguity.
Tom Ntagozera, one of Rwandan living in Denmark and Vice-President of Rwandan Diaspora Global Network (RDGN) said that there are no barriers to come and do businesses to support their country.
Ntagozera is in Rwanda to visit different activities and see the development of the country.
He said that the network has been operating since 2001 where Rwandans united together to establish a networking framework in which they can meet and share ideas aiming to partner with other Rwandans to build their country.
“It is something we thought about since many years ago, social media were not existing but we managed to be together in this network and we finally got a big number of members, we have participated to different activities including ‘bye bye nyakaysi, one-dollar campaign, Agaciro development fund, so, we participated in all developmental activities to support our country.
“We also participated in Mituelle de Sante, Girinka Munyarwanda, to name few. Others start privately and invested in private sector such as Tourism, transport, education where they built schools, health facilities, etc.” he added.
Ntagozera said that Rwandan community in Danmark are still contributing to many other activities in line with Rwanda’s development.
He gave an example of investment made in real estate. Recently, they came in Musanze in primary school construction with Rwandans living in Germany.
Ntagozera said that Rwandan community in diaspora use to follow on development of Rwanda when they are abroad. We do appreciate as we come and see to go tell others, Rwandans have hope of long life comparing to the past of the country. We do appreciate and thank the good leadership of the country that opened doors to Rwandans living abroad, Rwanda Day is a good space created by the Government” he noted.
He lauds the efforts of the country to build development of all life corners of citizens in education, transport, health, and more.
He said that many Rwandans living abroad wish to come and see the development of their country. He said that many of them can ask themselves if it is possible to join the move of development the country has developed so far and remain in ambiguity.
“What I can tell them is that development is possible in Rwanda, we need to come and run activities in our country, we do not need to have billions of francs, there are plots, people can build houses, people can make businesses, banks are there to give you loans, there are good leaders, and we have many success stories of our colleagues who have come and start activities in Rwanda,” Ntagozera said.
He also commented on Umushyikirano and other initiatives that bring together Rwandans such as Umushyikirano, Kwibuka where he calls Rwandans living in Diaspora to come and support all those initiatives.
Ntagozera added that the contribution of Rwandans living in Diaspora communities is very significant. “I call up on my colleagues to come and visit Rwanda, travel in Rwanda and support Rwanda,” he noted.
