Former Director General of the National Industrial Research and Development Agency (NIRDA), Dr Mungarulire Joseph has been arrested over embezzlement and mismanagement of funds.
This was confirmed on Wednesday by Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) via their twitter social network.
RIB twitted that beside Dr. Mungarulire, other five senior still working at NIRDA were also arrested.
Funds allegedly embezzled “meant for establishment of Community Processing Centers in Districts.” the tweet read in part
RIB assured the public that investigation is underway for prosecution of the suspects.
Dr. Mungarulire who led NIRDA since its establishment in 2013 was dismissed and replaced by Kampeta Sayinzoga following the government reshuffle of August 30, 2017.
