A delegation of 11 Senior Officers students and three staff members from United States Air War College are undertaking the regional cultural study tour in Rwanda from 24 to 28 February 2018 as part of their course’s curriculum to facilitate the course participants to understand and better analyse the US and regional political, economic and cultural contexts
“At the Air War College, we have a program called Regional Cultural Studies program from which the officers visit a region and learn more from it , the purpose being to help them go from their fairly narrow perceptions and perspectives to a more broader thinking about the world in general and more about the strategies and less about operations”, Dr Stephen Burgess said after thanking the Ministry of Defence and the People of Rwanda for a warm welcome and giving them such great educational opportunity.
The US Air War College delegation also visited the Kigali Genocide Memorial and later met the RDF leadership for brief on the bilateral partnership of the two countries, and existing cooperation in developing the Defence Forces as well as existing security challenges.
