Mr. Chanda says President Lungu will travel to Rwanda on a reciprocal visit at the invitation of his counterpart Paul Kagame.
He says the President and his delegation of selected Ministers will focus on enhancing bilateral cooperation covering various sectors of the economy.
Mr. Chanda says the state visit will culminate in the enhancement of economic, political and security cooperation.
He states that President Lungu will learn best practices on the implementation of special economic zones which Rwanda has been executing.
Mr Chanda said the President will also underscore the need to accelerate trade with Rwanda and the entire COMESA region, with Zambia having key export commodities that include Maize, steel and cement among others.
He said the President will highlight the fact that Africa’s’ prosperity and good governance can not be out sourced but achieved from within.
Mr. Chanda said the state visit is crucial to expediting the industrialisation agenda between the two countries and the COMESA region.
According to Mr. Chanda, many memoranda of understanding and bilateral agreements are expected to be penned during the state visit.
The President will be accompanied by Minister of Home Affairs Stephen Kampyongo, Minister of Foreign Affairs Joe Malanji, Minister of Commerce and Trade Christopher Yaluma and Minister of Transport Brian Mushimba. src Rwanda podium
