Reports from Nyamasheke district indicate that 18 people are receiving urgent medical attention at Kibogora hospital picked from an accident scene.
Dr Salatiel Kanyarukiko heading Kibogora hospital told local media that “all 18 patients have severe injuries and are currently being taken care of at the hospital.”
Just before this accident which occurred this morning between Kanjongo and Macuba sectors, both the passengers were travelling in a commuter taxi on its way from Rubavu district to Rusizi district.
However, 5 of the passengers have deep injuries and one is feared dead according to other incoming reports.
Traffic Police officer CP. Rafiki Mujiji told media that the cause of this accident hasn’t been established.
