According to the statement, Kagame is expected to pay a two-day state visit to Botswana on June 27 until June 28 at the invitation of his Botswanan counterpart, President Mokgweetsi Masisi.
« President Kagame’s visit marks an exciting moment in the relations between Botswana and Rwanda, as this will be the first high level at head of state and government level, » the statement said.
The statement further noted that the visit will also afford the two “ambitious” leaders an invaluable opportunity to exchange views on bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual interest.
Anthony Morima, a local economic commentator, said the visit will provide Botswana with a golden opportunity learn from Rwanda’s “wealthy technological advancement” into the fourth industrial revolution.
« Rwanda’s technology revolution has helped the country to forge new path after the unforgettable genocide, » said Morima, adding that the land of thousand hills is shaking off its negative image.
Botswana will definitely learn a lot from Rwanda in order to maintain her image « as the jewel of Africa », said Morima.
Rwanda is one of the best performing nations on the African continent and is touted as an emerging economy to watch.
